Off to a good start – This device seems very capable as an e-note taking device. The pen/pencil on paper “feel” is pretty good and the speed of refresh is as well. I have not had the sense of having to wait until the device “catches up” as I write. The inclusion of the Play Store is very powerful and should not be underestimated. This means that you have access to proprietary libraries/bookstores, as well as content that the device handles natively. While it won’t be suitable for watching videos, it is quite good as a news reader–text and pictures are quite acceptable. Having Play Store sets this device apart. That said, value for money remains the weak point here. Especially when you pretty much have to purchase the premium pen (with “eraser”) for extra, and the portfolio/case, it gets to be quite a chunk of change. The portfolio–using just a magnet mount–does not provide any meaningful corner protection so I really worry about drops. And the pen magnet mount, even when “wrapped” by the magnet portfolio strap, is all too easily bumped free. I don’t have any buyer’s regret at this point–these thoughts are offered just as a guide to those who are looking to make the move to an e-note taker and want straight talk.

It works – Getting the device in hand took longer than I expected despite Prime. The device itself works great and battery life hasn’t been an issue. My only complaint is placement of the USB-C port. Why not put it on the top or the bottom so I can charge it while the cover is closed?

This is a wonderful device but… I returned it – First of all this is a solid 5 stars, I ordered it by mistake, I mistook it for the more powerful BOOX Tab Ultra. I used this for a full day before realizing my mistake. So it was returned.
