Great PC for design and video editing – Great deal and great system. I am very impressed with the benchmark tests I’ve ran. I did upgrade the video card, but tested the onboard OEM GPU and it still worked perfectly fine. A little slower than with the upgraded GPU, but nothing very noticeable other than opening large files in Photoshop or rendering 3D model and videos. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Dell XPS 8950 Desktop Computer – This taught me to read all of the information about the item I am considering, instead of looking at just the picture and a couple of items in the listing. The picture clearly showed a DVD in the unit. When I got it, there was no DVD in the computer. I ended up purchasing an external DVD unit to complete the tasks at hand, as I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning the unit and ordering another one.

Feature shown, but not included! – SO – What’s up with this: The PC ad for the Dell XPS 8950 Desktop Computer shows a feature at the top front, a dvd/dvr drive. However, this PC did Not have any such drive! We looked it over – ALL over – nothing in front, back, sides or on the top or bottom. NO DRIVE! How is the customer supposed to load their software onto it – Magic?!?

Does not come with a CD/DVR – The computer is nice and will handle any computer game. The CPU is great as well as the GPU. In addition, it will especially handle PC VR games with your Meta Quest 2 – with no problem whatsoever. I saw this computer and ordered it on the spot. However, I thought it had a CD/DVD player inside the case. My job requires me to have a DVD player and I cannot stand a standalone USB DVD player no matter how good and inexpensive they are. I am not going to use Duct tape to mount an external CD/DVD player to my computer so for this simple and ridiculous reason, I had to return this particular computer. However, I did find a screaming Dell that I should have purchased before I jumped on this one.

Easy Upgrade – Copied SSD to a 2 TB SSD and replaced C drive with significant expansion space. Replace 1 TB hard drive with a 4 TB drive and placed the 1 TB in the open drive slot. Easy upgrades at a reasonable price.

Reliable hardware and great OS support from Windows and Linux alike. – Solid choice for anyone who prefers reliability over performance. i7-12700 is very fast for most tasks. Power supply is somewhat limited, but a determined gamer with the right adapter would be able to run a 250w – 300w graphics card with slight reduction in its CPU and GPU power.

Since Windows 8 it seems Microsoft is intent on forcing users to save their information on choices made by Microsoft, and not where experienced users have always saved their own files and information. Now, on Windows 11, it’s even more difficult to force the save locations to be where I choose.
