A lot of opportunity with this mini PC – I travel a lot for work and needed something that could be connected to a TV or computer screen for instant access. This mini PC is lightweight, portable, and will be my main use going forward!

Helped me repair a broken oscilloscope lead to better-than-new condition – Very easy to use. I crimped an MCX connector on RG174 cable with no problems. I was able to get my hand-held oscilloscope back into operation thanks to this tool.

Great price on a hex die crimper – Great price on a hex die crimper, all the sizes work. Just wish there was also included a 0.213″, had to get another crimper for RG-58 with Kings BNC terminations.

Good Quality Crimper for this Price Range – Nice, versatile crimp tool and the quality is very good for the price range. The frame is stamped heavy gauge steel with no sharp or unfinished edges and the crimp action works smoothly. Alignment of the crimp dies is good but there is some internal roughness on the inside of the dies that will imprint on the crimp sleeve. This is irrelevant to me as all the cables I make for personal use get covered with heat shrink tubing so no one is going to see it. Don’t use the pin crimp holes, they mostly destroy your pin. If you are crimping BNC pins, get a good 8 or 12 point pin crimp tool. Anything smaller like SMA connectors, soldering the center pin is you best bet for a good connection. You can go up a bit in quality from here by purchasing an Ideal crimp tool but just the Ideal dies cost more than this entire tool. You can also get a nice Paladin crimp tool for the price of seven of these. Not worth it unless you are making the level of cable that requires that quality or you company is purchasing it for you. Back in the day, MCI provided us with Kings crimp tools and they were over $400 just for the frame. If you need a good crimp tool with a large range of crimp sizes, you con’t go wrong with this one. I use it quite a lot with no issues.

Super slow – I bought this for the sole purpose of running a webcam on Messenger so our toddle could see her grandparents on the TV in the playroom while she plays. It is so slow, we have abandoned it. It takes a super long time to boot up and get running (5-10 minutes), all calls need to be planned out in advance. I have had several issues getting Messenger to run on it and have to use the web based version rather than the app. There is a super long delay in the video when I am able to get everything working. 4-5 seconds which makes taking extremely challenging. I had planned to also use this for video game night where we use a Steam game to play games with our friends over a video call. I haven’t tried to run anything on it like Steam, but I can’t imagine with how slow it runs, we would be able to play anything on it. For a small amount more, I can get a used refurbished desktop computer that would run much better (I have had good luck with them in the past). The downside of having a larger faster computer is way better than having a small slow computer. I wasn’t expecting it to be super ultra fast, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this slow either. If I ever get time, I may try to mess with it and will update if I ever get it working better, but right out of the box, it is useless to us.
