Hold up! – If you’re seeing this review and haven’t bought this ink before…BUY IT. This was my second go around ordering ink and the first time, I order the same hippo brand but because I seen it was cheaper I ordered the other instead… these are so easy to fill up. You don’t have to do the ink draw from the bottles like you would with the cheaper option. I will buy refills since I have these now but if you don’t have these, spend a little extra and buy these.

Wonderful printer quality from my ET-2800 – If I was to give anyone converting their first eco tank printer advice I would say to let the printer sit for a day after filling the ink tanks. Don’t plug it in and complete setup immediately. Oh and of course start with a new infilled printer… my ink arrived pretty shook up from Amazon and I didn’t even think about bubbles being an issue but it took quite a while to get a good calibration print (20+ cleaning cycles). I finally got what I think was bubbles in the lines out and it prints beautifully on Hippo sublimation paper. Previously I was ordering prints from rainy day sublimation to make the mugs I sell at craft fairs. Having my own printer will save me money and enable me to accept orders for custom photo mugs . Making cute gnome mugs for Christmas with a design I found online. Oh, also, don’t expect to have left over color ink after a first time printer setup. After initial fill up when you go through the initial setup the printer will fill the internal hoses and prime the print head, this will consume quite a bit of ink from the tanks. This isn’t lost ink, it’s just elsewhere in the printer. I had no color ink left after refilling the tanks after setup. You will have leftover black since that is the most used color. It’s really nice of Hippo to provide extra black ink. Also like every printer, don’t let it sit for long periods. Personally I’d print at least once a week to keep the heads clear.
