Safe mode and finger smudges… – Really like my little laptop. Needed something to get on line with because I wanted to retire my old laptop from internet to protect my adobe products. I love the color of the laptop but it’s a satin finish and oil from fingers are easily transfered to it. Needs to be cleaned of if it bothers you. It cleans right up. The other issue is that it runs in HP’s version of a safe mode. It appears that it won’t allow certain functions without you taking it out of safe mode. From what I understand, it’s purpose is to make the most out of memory available without taxing it with programs that take a lot to run. It gives you a choice when you run into a situation safe mode won’t allow. You can switch off safe mode. But I haven’t. It’s pretty nice the way it is. Just be aware, this laptop has built in limits.

It doesn’t charge with a standard USB cord! – This laptop still uses an old-fashioned power brick to charge its battery. It is cumbersome to travel with such extras. Most laptops now charge with a standard USB cord. I wish I knew this beforehand since I use a laptop only for travel.
