Its ok, I prefer my Ipad pro better. – This surface pro 8 is okay. It has glitchy issues like watching netflix and having the screen freeze. It will also randomly turn off and randomly go to sleep. Its frustrating when your typing a document and it turns off or goes to sleep and you have to waste time restarting it. Also its frustrating when watching netflix and the screen freezes, you close the app and then restart and it works fine. The keyboard, trackpad, and pen are excellent for a portable tablet. If this product wasnt so glitchy i would be very happy with it. But i regret selling my 5 year old acer predator laptop as it was better in everything except battery life compared to this. I will be selling this product and purchasing an ipad again.

Hardware Issues? – I love surface products and have been using them exclusively since 2016. I’ve had a surface pro 3, 2 surface gos, a surface laptop and now the surface pro 8. However, this one just isn’t doing it. It worked great til about a month ago, and now it has constant connection issues no matter what I am hooked up to, as well as massive thermal problems to the key of opening up a browser will literally overheat and freeze up my computer. Constant mouse jumping and numerous problems when opening apps. I have done a clean reset and this issue wasn’t fixed. I have updated everything I can in Windows update and it hasn’t been fixed. I love surface so much, but I can not reccommend this product now. The most disappointing thing is I still haven’t even paid it off yet. That is literally well over a thousand dollars in the drain for a non functional computer. I’m sorry, but I just can’t get around that or that I would have had to pay people for them to support their 1000+ dollar product. Bad experience and if I can even sell it now, I will be getting rid of it the moment my last payment goes to amazon.

Deceptive product description – Just got the Surface to take on a family vacation in 2 days (i.e., there’s no time to return it & buy a different one) & then it would be my home computer for all my writing, yay…but it turns out that it does NOT come with a keyboard. The description is a lie. If they wanted to be honest, they’d say “Does not come with keyboard” instead of “Accessories not included but let us tell you how amazing this keyboard is & look, here are some photos also of the Surface with a keyboard!”

Love it – Works well for school and I’ve been dabbling with drawing, I’m very happy that windows updated the design of the surface pro. I’ve had the Surface laptop since around 2017 and so far, I’m very pleased with both machines

So-So Product with very POOR Support – Had the surface pro 8 for 3 weeks and the USB ports stopped working. Tech support required it to be sent in for replacement due to a hardware problem and was told it would be swapped right away since the device was still brand new.

Beware of the potential Screen burn out issues with Surface Pros – I have two Surface Pros, a 6 and a 7. Both developed screen issues and found it is a manufacturing problem with the LCD produced by LG or Samsung, not sure. Contacted Microsoft and I was given an option to return the Surface Pros and they will give me a refurbished units. What is the guarantee that they will not develop these issues? So, please beware and go with traditional laptops like Dell with solid customer support or even HP for that case. Do not fall into Surface trap and MS’s unfair quality and customer support/service issues. They are not hardware company and never seems to bother about the customer. The LCD screens in ebay costs USD 150 to replace and there is guraantee on these. What a waste of time and money!

Even better than my beloved Surface Pro 6 – I got a Surface Pro 6 a couple years ago when starting law school, and I loved it. Part of my rationale for investing in a pretty expensive laptop was that keyboard accidents are the mostly likely for me, and it would be better to replace a keyboard for a couple hundred than to have to buy a new computer if something happened. Unfortunately my type cover stopped working a few weeks ago, and because of the upgrades to the Pro 8, the available type covers weren’t compatible with my device. I got the Pro 8 as a new investment/replacement, and the improvements are minor but still apparent. For example, I love that fingerprint recognition is a possibility (with a compatible type cover) because it enables me to quickly unlock my computer at work even with my mask on. The slim pen charging groove is also an excellent innovation (it was hard to keep track of my original Surface pen with my 6 due to the magnetic side situation), and I like having the volume and power buttons on opposite sides. Overall, it’s just a bit more polished than its predecessors. I’ve been singing the praises of the Surface Pro line since I got my first one, and I expect that to continue in the future.
