A powerful and versatile laptop. – I’m a huge fan of the furnace book series. It’s a bit goofy looking but fills a lot of niches. I use it in tablet mode to display reference photos or to use as a drawing tablet. I use it to edit video. I play the occasional game on it. I use it in presentations where I can remove the screen and pass it around. Is a great Jack of all trades and I’m sad that it’s been discontinued.

Heavy and unstable. – I purchased the 15″ screen and should have opted for the smaller version 13.5″ The screen is off balance and a bit wobbly when used as a laptop. If in the event I use as a tablet, the screen by itself has limited battery life and is too large for tablet use. The pitch of being both is not good at either and the better choice still would be to purchase a laptop or a tablet or both.

I knew I was right about this buy! – I have never purchased a laptop that cost as much as this one. But I had a good feeling this was going to be it and last for a long time. After using this Surface 3 Laptop for a week, I have no doubt I did the right thing. Getting the 15″ screen, the extra heavy RAM and storage space, I watch a football game on an extended portable screen and do my work on the main screen, and I feel like I’m really living! I am so pleased with this! The weight is not light, but the screen size is excellent. The thickness is what I expected for a 15″ aluminum chassis. The screen is sharp and already the battery life is something to brag about. The keyboard is backlit and immaculate. I can use it as a tablet with my pen and carry it around. As tablets go, it is somewhat large. But I have absolutely no complains on this Microsoft Surface Book 3 512GB i7/32GB! I recommend it to anyone able to afford a Surface laptop at this price point!

Flexibility – I researched the heck out of exactly what it was that I wanted prior to making this purchase. I do instructional work on the side of my birthday day to day (firefighter). I didn’t want anything with a large footprint so I wanted to stay with something in the 13″ range, sleek, minimal and powerful. I initially purchased the razer stealth and was blown away by how fast and efficient it ran programs etc. Windows hello worked well with it also, however wanted more from the laptop, touchscreen etc. I decided to send it back and opted for the less powerful yet more flexible surface book 3. As soon as I received it I knew I had made the right choice. Extremely flexible, I live the tablet mode, using the pen during instructional work and having the ability to articulate my point more so on web based instructional courses etc is a homerun. I did have battery issues initially, but this have since been resolved with the updates and when using office only, my screen would flicker almost as of it’s adjusting to a different screen resolution. It hasn’t happened within the past few weeks and I think that may have been a software issue as well. A bonus feature is that I have the option to game with xbox game pass and this little machine will play some Halo etc with zero issues. Quite impressive for how thin and small it is. Overall, this is a solid laptop although I did understand that there are several other laptops of similar fashion that execute certain tasks better. I don’t agree with the price point, but I was able to purchase it with around $350 off which was a solid sale price. The flexibility is like no other, the options are endless and it’s extremely well built. I’m very happy with the purchase. The web cam is ridiculous as well.

Great for designers – I purchased this surface book mainly to use for design. It works wonderfully with all the Adobe Cc programs. The stylus sensitivity is great, very accurate. I’m used to using a Wacom Cintiq and this was a more affordable and portable option for me. Also nice if you need to do design work while traveling. Overall I love the product and highly recommend it.
