The short version is I love this hub in ways I thought a hub could not be loved. The number of ports, the fact it’s all USB 3, the form factor, the clarity by which data and charge ports are distinguished from one another, and most of all, the ability to easily control which devices are getting power on a per port basis (with clear indication as to its state) have altogether left me in awe of its genius.

Handier than you’d think! – I bought this because I got a laptop that was pretty underpowered and I wanted to beef it up with a bunch of USB devices. This has twelve outlets, including 3 that are capable of charging other devices (I haven’t had occasion to use those.) And the best thing is those switches that let you turn the ports off and on individually. For instance, I have a drawing pad which, if I leave it on, will co-opt my mouse every now and then when it’s on. But I can just hit the switch on that port when I’m not using the pad. It’s great! Right now I’ve got my printer, my keyboard, my monitor, and an external hard drive attached through this thing. And it’s connected to my DESKTOP computer. When I want to switch it over to the laptop, I just pull the hub connector from that computer and plug it into the laptop’s USB port. Easy!

Plenty of ports so if one or two fail over time will stall have backups. Replaced an old hub that failed after about 6 years.
