Super cool phone, but it’s not for everyone. – If you haven’t already watch a few reviews on this phone. (I’d recommend both Linus Tech Tips’ video as well as Marques Brownlee’s reviews) IF you are like me and just know you’ll like the gimmick of the phone turning into a small tablet despite all of the negatives than you won’t be disappointed. The Battery life is something that allot of people say sucks, but from my experience it is more than enough to get me through the day. (I primarily use it folded up) I don’t use the phone as much as many other people use theirs, but just by keeping the screen brightness reasonably low and only using the phone folded when doing basic tasks, I’ve found it last for a decent amount of time. Overall it’s great for games and reading. (Especially for manga or other comics) but for videos or general apps the wider screen doesn’t really change anything too much, aside from being marginally bigger. It’s a really cool device but only for the people like me who will actually take advantage of the hardware. If you are just going to use it for snapchat and Instagram or whatever look elsewhere. The cameras are just “Okay” the battery is just “Okay” and the front screen despite being OLED is not great for allot of tasks because of its aspect ratio. But for the power users, you already know if you’ll like it or not. Its a super cool idea and it CAN be super cool…. That is only if you’ll use the hardware to its full potential.

Great renewed phone, great price, beautiful screen(s) [Android 12 Bluetooth bug] – Samsung Fold 3 is a great phone (see BT Bug at end). Battery life is excellent when folded using front screen. Battery runs down quicker when unfolded in full screen but not surprising since it’s a mini-tablet. Paired with NReal Air Glasses and Samsung DEX is amazing for computing and youtube’ing while walking the local trails. Have a small bluetooth keyboard for desktop-like computing (Gmail, Joplin, academic work) but just ran into a new Bluetooth bug. Phone Auto-upgraded from Android 11 to 12 and now Bluetooth antenna shuts off when screen is opened and cannot be enabled. BT works fine with phone is closed. Many online reports point to the latest Samsung Firmware as the cause. Annoying but far from a deal breaker for me.

Best phone available at this price range – I don’t particularly enjoy upgrading phones because every “best phone” list out there only lists the newest models that, in some cases, are inferior to a flagship from the previous generation. If money is no object, then the best devices are new and at the high end. If, however, you’re looking for a deal, then Amazon renewed is where you’d find it. After extensive research, I settled on the Fold 3.
