Ok but… – I bought this to use with my smart phone. Only problem is, I have an Otter box case and the USB c plug doesn’t quite fit when I have my case on. I have to take my case off, which isn’t convenient. If you ever had an Otterbox case it’s not simply pulling off one cover. I think I need one with a short cord.

For those who miss the removable storage in your phone or tablet. – I’ve been very anxious about phones without removable storage (no SD card slot). But that seems to be the way the manufactures are going. This simple and inexpensive device can help. I use this with a reasonably fast SD card and file transfers are quick and easy. It’s great for fast backups or archival of files you don’t want to go missing. Works great with my Samsung phone and tablet.

Perfect Reader for Cams or PC – This is a fantastic little gadget. Reads the card just like a file system, rather than displaying all the videos that you otherwise have to scroll through. Exactly the versatility I was looking for right out of the box. I was so impressed within the first 5 mins I ordered 2 more to carry in my cars for faster quick access to my dash cam videos. Yes, for my use, it will require pulling the SD card and then accessing through my cell phone. So to repeat, this is so much easier to scroll files rather than video screen shots, and they will play right on the phone. Disclaimer: I can only compare my experience with this unit against the descriptions provided on other types.

Versatile and Compact – This a great portable card reader for keeping in your camera bag or glovebox. With a USB type A end and a USB type C end, it works with computers as well as phones and tablets that support USB OTG. Having the connectors on the body is probably more of an advantage than a disadvantage. It keeps things nice and compact, and removes a common failure point (the pigtail connector end) that seems to plague portable card readers. The minor possible downside is that the type C doesn’t necessarily connect well if you have a phone case installed. The end caps remain securely in place, but are indeed a loose part that can get displaced once removed. While I didn’t perform a formal speed test, it does seem to read and write reasonably fast. It appeared that I was able to write to a U3 card at its full rated speed.

Works great – Got this so I can move pictures from my camera SD card to my Ipad. Works perfectly. The only comment I would have for others is if you don’t have an card in at least one of the slots, the device is not recognized by my Windows computer which caused me to panic for a while that I might have a defective unit. Put a card in it and it was recognized and the card could be read/copied/etc.

No instructions for Ipad pro 2021 – took a while to figure it out without no instructions. You have to use your files folder on ipad , when you plug in the uni it will come on there in files as untitled, then go to photos and select what you want to transfer and then go to the square with the arrow pointing up and select transfer to files, wait till it transfers then go to files folder and there they are
